Welcome !

Naismith Memorial Public School is located in the Town of Mississippi Mills (Almonte) about 40 kilometers south-west of Ottawa (see map below). The school was named after Dr. James Naismith and was built in 1970. As the school population grew, many portables were added until the 2000-2001 school year, when extensive renovations and the building of additional classrooms enabled us to dispose of all portable classrooms. Today, the school has a population of about 310 students from JK to Grade 6.

At NMPS we are committed to finding solutions to obstacles and believe that with strong relationships and effective communication students can achieve anything! This year we will all continue to grow and learn in a safe, caring and positive learning environment, as we carry-on Dr. James Naismith's philosophy; Sound Body~Sound Mind.

Sincerely,

Don Hickey, Principal

welcome
